Sergio Ramos Celebrating for Real Madrid

Transfer rumours are like that 24-hour bug that goes round your work. It gets everybody while people stand by the water cooler saying things like “Everybody seems to be coming down with it” while ejecting sputum onto the plastic cups. With transfers, everybody hears about a rumour and then it fades away into the depths of history, never to be heard from again.

Unless you’re Virgil van Dijk who could well be off to Sunderland (again).

Rangers fans will be delighted to hear that, in keeping with their youth policy over the last three seasons, 35-year-old Derby midfielder John Eustace has emerged as a target. Don’t worry though, Rangers fans. Malky Mackay says he can be a good leader for your club. Or at least we think that’s what the text said.

Danny Wilson looks to have turned down a return to the South Side but Rangers will be going back in with a hessian sack marked with dollar signs as they look to bring him back, while Scott Allan might actually be joining the Gers with a supposed fee of £1million (with add-ons) being agreed.

Hearts and Hibs are set to duke it out over St Mirren midfielder John McGinn and will hold a competition to see who can stuff the most £20 notes into the hole in his leg before the September 1st deadline.

In England, things are hotting up for the signature of Raheem Sterling. After being touted as a possible signing for Real Madrid, it looks as though Raheem’s agent will have to settle for the slightly smaller wads of cash being offered by the Blue half of Manchester.

On the other side of Manchester though, things are getting weird. It looks as though Real Madrid could get David De Gea from United and cash which would see yellow card magnet and disciplinary hearing fan Sergio Ramos to Old Trafford.

And finally it looks like Brendan Rodgers will be given £75million of Liverpool’s hard earned cash to go out and buy three players who look like good signings on paper but probably won’t fit into the system. Asier Illaramendi, Salomon Rondon and Carlos Bacca will all arrive at Anfield to begin their long search for a loan move.
