Scottish Comedy FC has joined NewsNow, a website that collects links to articles about the biggest names in football like Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi and Ronaldo. And when someone searches for Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi or Ronaldo they are sent articles that feature Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi or Ronaldo. Now while some people may think including lots of frivolous references to Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi or Ronaldo may help their webstats, Jukebox Durie hates such opportunism. We would never mention Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi or Ronaldo unless it was absolutely necessary to mention Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi or Ronaldo. That’s why today’s article will not mention Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi or Ronaldo because it has nothing to do with Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi or Ronaldo*.

This article is about Dunfermline Athletic.

Gok would have been dying to get them into some pastel shades.
And Dunfermline are linked to last week’s article about St Johnstone by one thing. And, no, it’s not Man Utd, Liverpool, Lionel Messi or Ronaldo!

Following last week’s article about St Johnstone and The Skids, this week Jukebox Durie features another Skids song used by a Scottish team. Dunfermline run on to the pitch to The Skids song ‘Into The Valley’, Which has also been used by Charlton Athletic and, for a brief time, Bradford City when they were in the Premiership.

Mural of the late Stuart Adamson at Dunfermline Athletic’s East End Park.

Formed in 1977 in Dunfermline, the band’s (now sadly passed on) Stuart Adamson went on to form ‘Big Country’, while another founding member, Richard Jobson, went on to become a noted TV presenter, producer, and film-maker. Into The Valley was their biggest hit…and what a hit it is.

This is the Skids with Into The Valley:

*We also won’t mention David Beckham.

About the Author
After too many years as season ticket holder at Parkhead, Andy Todd renounced the SPL three years ago to support Queens Park. One team is a rank bunch of amateurs who play in a state of the art stadium and the other is…(I think we can all see where this is going).

Andy has been performing comedy for 18 months but is currently ‘between gigs’ while he writes a book on Scottish property law to be published in Summer 2012. Its potential audience will be less than 300 but his mum will be very proud.
