What a week it’s been for those of us who haven’t already forgotten that we have a Fantasy Football team. With the season in full flow there have been a few surprises, a few injuries and – for the most part – a lot of astounding mediocrity.

It’s been another long week for anyone who bought Francis Coquelin and expected him to contribute any points. A grand total of 5 points after 3 games will be leading most people to look for someone more consistent (in the fantasy football stakes). For just £400,000 more you could have James Morrison who sits on 17 points.

No, seriously.

Two unlikely players stole the show in round 2. Callum Wilson scored a fantastic hat trick against West Ham, leading this correspondent to buy him and shout “GO ON, DO IT AGAIN!” at his screen all week, and Aleksander Kolarov impressed with a ‘cheeky’ goal against Everton.

Now that we’re three weeks in, it’s time to start the polling. Who’s been your best signing so far? Let us know on twitter @ScotComFC and send us your stories about your trials and tribulations in our Fantasy Premier League (or your own if you haven’t joined ours, you mug) and we’ll publish the best ones in this weekly roundup.

As it is, here’s the top 5…

Ryan McNair’s Steel Forehead had a barnstormer of a week thanks to a combination of Bafetimbi Gomis, Riyad Mahrez and Aleks Kolarov, bringing in 68 points to send them to the top of the table. More of the same in terms of consistent performances from Tommy Gallacher‘s Astrogliders, Fraser Dunlop’s FC I Wish I Was Paul (don’t we all, Fraser?) and Andy Coyle‘s Billy Ocean’s Eleven have seen them all burst into the top 5, leaving Rory Dillett‘s Dillettinho & Sons on the slide but still hanging on.

Join us next week when someone completely out of left field will score a hat trick and – much to the disappointment of this correspondent – it won’t be Troy Deeney.

Don’t forget that you can still join the Scottish Comedy FC league. Head over to Fantasy Premier League and use code: 2065428-467263.
