Another month passes and with midweek Christmas fixtures looming large on the horizon, now is the perfect time for failing Fantasy Football managers (like me) to take some points off those people who sit for hours poring over the form of Norwich left backs instead of doing the important things in life. Like drinking.

After mocking Dejan Lovren’s poor start to the season and Liverpool players looking about as likely to pick up points as a particularly sober judge, the time may have come to accept that things have changed under Jurgen Klopp and get a few of those fantastic Anfield talents back in your team. They go to St. James’ Park this weekend and they’ll fancy not only a few goals but a nice clean sheet too. Philippe Coutinho’s a decent bet but is a slight doubt for the weekend so is it time to throw in Danny Sturridge? Only time will tell.

By the way, if you have any Newcastle players in your team right now then you’re a maverick and should hand over your badge and gun before being applauded out of the station.

Speaking of mavericks, you won’t find any Newcastle players in the teams of our mini league’s (you can still join using the code:2065428-467263) Top 3 but you will find some incredible risk taking which has really paid off. Here’s the Scottish Comedy FC league’s Top 10.

1. FC Nae Chance – B.J. Hughes
2. Ali Dia United – Davey Connor
3. Steel forehead – Ryan Mcnair
4. Kech me if you can – James Taylor
5. Dillettinho & Sons – Rory Dillett
6. Dross County – Ronald Mackay
7 Expected Toulouse – Mick Jardine
8 CelticUnited – Frank Henderson
9 Strachan’s Sensation – Gordon Sheach
10 Cech this out – David Bonthrone

Congratulations to everyone who is a) doing so well or b) still keeping up with their team. For the decidedly average among us (that’s me), it’s quite depressing to know that there are people who have given up on their teams who are still doing better but alas, in the immortal words of the Football Ramble, ‘that’s what Fantasy Football do to ya’.

We’ll see you in a month – keep the faith.
